Olav Egeland, CEO and Founder
Olav Egeland is MSc (’84) and PhD (’87) in Control Engineering from NTNU. He was formerly Professor of Control Engineering at NTNU ’89-’07 where he was teaching within Robotics, Computer Control of Mechanical Systems, and Modeling and Simulation.

Jon A. Glomsrud, Chief Operating Officer
Jon A. Glomsrud is MSc (’96) in Control Engineering from NTNU. He was formerly with Kongsberg Defense and Aerospace.

Arne Kjørsvik, Chief Market Officer
Arne Kjørsvik is MSc (’94) in Control Engineering from NTNU. He was formerly with Novotek, Kongsberg Defense and Aerospace, and Marintek.

Øyvind N. Smogeli, Chief Technology Officer
Øyvind Smogeli is MSc ('02) and PhD ('05) in Marine Engineering from NTNU.

Linda Gjølga, Finance Manager
Linda Gjølga is MBA (’97) from Bodø Graduate School of Business. She was formerly with Leif Hoegh and Hurtigruten Group ASA.

Founders

Marine Cybernetics was founded in 2002 by the NTNU professors Thor I. Fossen, Asgeir J. Sørensen, Olav Egeland, Tor Arne Johansen together with Jan Biti (Business Consultant) and Arild Paulsen (Attorney of Law). Asgeir Sørensen, Thor I. Fossen and Tor Arne Johansen have returned to their positions as professors at NTNU.

    Marine Cybernetics is qualified in the Achilles Joint Qualification System for suppliers to the Oil Industry in Norway and Denmark in Categories 3.2.18 and 3.13.10.

    Marine Cybernetics is a member of the International Marine Contractors Association (IMCA).
