Asgeir J. Sørensen, CEO and Founder
Asgeir J. Sørensen is MSc (’88) in Marine Technology and PhD (’93) in Control Engineering from NTNU.
He was Professor of Marine Technology at NTNU (’99-’05) where he was teaching marine control systems.
He is currently Adjunct Professor. He was formerly with MARINTEK, ABB Marine,
and ABB in Zürich as BA Technology Manager.

Olav Egeland, Chief Technology Officer and Founder
Olav Egeland is MSc (’84) and PhD (’87) in Control Engineering from NTNU.
He was formerly Professor of Control Engineering at NTNU ’89-’07 where he was teaching within Robotics,
Computer Control of Mechanical Systems, and Modeling and Simulation.

Jon A. Glomsrud is MSc (’96) in Control Engineering from NTNU. He was formerly with Kongsberg Defense and Aerospace.

Linda Gjølga is MBA (’97) from Bodø Graduate School of Business. She was formerly with Leif Hoegh and Hurtigruten Group ASA.

Founders
Marine Cybernetics was founded in 2002 by the NTNU professors Thor I.
Fossen, Asgeir J. Sørensen, Olav Egeland, Tor Arne Johansen together with
Jan Biti (Business Consultant) and Arild Paulsen (Attorney of Law).
Thor I. Fossen and Tor Arne Johansen returned to their positions as professors at NTNU in 2008,
but are still active part time in the company as technical experts.
